The Archives and Special Collections (A&SC) are located on the 8th floor of the library This includes the Archives and Special Collections classroom room 804, the reading room 803, as well as a staff workroom and individual offices.
Archives and Special Collections collects and preserves a large collection of photos, historical records, memorabilia, rare books, and other documents relating to the University and Lancaster county. The collection is comprised of the University Archives and Special Collections.
The University Archives includes records, photos, and artifacts produced by Millersville University. Special Collections includes manuscripts, rare books, broadsides, prints, maps, and oral histories. Collections are particularly strong in the history of education, Pennsylvania German history, culture, and printing, and we have growing collections in African American history and women’s history. Students are able to make use of primary sources the library owns by scheduling an appointment.
