Archives & Special Collections is hiring a paid Student Research Intern for a two-semester internship beginning in Spring 2026 and ending in Fall 2026. As the Student Research Intern, you will be part of the Millersville Institutional Legacy Initiative, which seeks to learn more about the history of the University. You will work closely with Professor Frank Vitale, University Archivist and Special Collections Librarian, to select a topic to research, conduct the research using archival records, and disseminate your research findings to the University community. Possible topics include, but are not limited to:
- Millersville's connections to the Carlisle Indian Industrial School
- Millersville's links to local history and place
- History of specific people, departments, organizations, or groups at MU
Preference for this position is given to MU undergraduate students in their first or second year. Students from any degree type or major are encouraged to apply. The Student Research Intern will be expected to work approximately 10 hours a week on-site in the McNairy Library during both the Spring and Fall semesters.
