MERLOT

We previously mentioned Bob Vaillancourt's Course ePortfolio materials in Merlot. Bob decided to use Merlot's suite of tools and option to organize his course materials into what Merlot calls a Course ePortfolio. The bulk of the materials for Bob's course still remain in Millersville's Institutional Repsoitory, however using Merlot's system Bob built the context around how the resources can be used. This also makes them discoverable as part of MERLOT's large and well know directory of learning materials.

To get started with MERLOT, you'll first need to create an account. Then use the 'Add' menu to either Create with Content Builder or Course ePortfolio. MERLOT provides help documentation, but if you have questions, feel free to reach out to your librarian.

OER Commons

OER Commons was previously discussed in relation to its Open Author tool. IN addition OER Commons is a massive directory of open educational materials across discipline and levels. It includes materials aimed at elementary school, middle school, high school, undergraduate and graduate level. You can suggest materials to add to the directory by submitting a link. You can also use Open Author and submit your resource for review directly.  Charlton Wolfgang used Open Author and published materials for his Science for the Young Learner course directly into the OER Commons.  Note: OER Commons staff will review items before they are published.
